She was predeceased by: her parents, James Monroe and Susan "Susie" Akers (Plum); and her brother James "Jimmy" Akers. She is survived by: her husband Roy "Sonny" Walter Barker; her children, Sherry Barker, Mike Barker (Janie) and Melissa "Missy" Benkiel (Mark); her grandchildren, Zachary, Tyler, Danielle, Michael, Mason, Joey and Jackie; and her sister Linda Nelson (James). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
