He was predeceased by: his parents, Sherman Shaffer and Ethel Mae Parker Shaffer; his wife Patricia Parker Shaffer; his children, Okey Shaffer, Jr., Steven Shaffer and Norma Keen; his grandchildren, Shane McPherson, Danny Parker and Arleen Coe; and his sisters, Mary Lawson and Ruthie Weatherick.
He is survived by: his children, David Shaffer of New Milton, Raymond Parker of Cairo, Brandon Newman of Parkersburg, Alice Shaffer of Gassaway, Cheryl Carlson of Parkersburg, Tara Shaffer of Parkersburg and Joni Ball of Parkersburg; and his sisters, Roxie McDonld of Shock, Betty Echard Higginbotham of Harrisville and Opal Bailey of Wardensville, WV. He is also survived by thirty grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
