He is survived by: his sons, Joseph Lee Gum of Portland, OR, Troy Gum (Kristin) and Trevor Gum (Amanda); his grandchildren, Troy Gum II (Gracie), Victoria Gum (Eli Bee), Thane Gum, Thad Gum, Landry Marrs (Elisabeth), Tabetha Marrs and Stephanie Sheets; his great grandchildren, Jacey Lucas, Tyde Lucas, Luke Marrs, Josette Marrs and Tatem Marrs; and his sisters, Mary Jane Staats and Eleanor Nicholson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
