He was predeceased by: his parents, John D. Patterson and Zela Mae Patterson (Lowther); and his first love Martha Patterson (Hart). He is survived by: his daughter Elizabeth Johnson (James) of New Martinsville, WV; his granddaughter Sara Johnson of New Martinsville, WV; his brother Charles Patterson (Barbara) of Virginia; his former wife Ruth Patterson of Georgia; and his stepson Jeremiah Bearden of SanAntonio, TX.. He is also survived by her children and grandchildren.
William was a big supporter of higher education, so memorial contributions may be made to Bethany College, The Bethany Fund, 31 East Campus Dr., Bethany, WV 26032.
