With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Virgil Jackson Stewart of New Martinsville, West Virginia, born in Sistersville, West Virginia, who passed away on October 16, 2020 at the age of 72. He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Stewart and Georgia Jacobs Stewart; and his siblings, Eva Stackpole, Barbara Simmons and Randall Stewart.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Sing Stewart; his son Daniel Stewart (Allison) of Magnolia, Delaware; his grandchildren, Caleb and Fiona Stewart of Magnolia, Delware; his siblings, Ralph Stewart of Pittsburgh, Calvin, Gerald Stewart (Sonya) of Sistersville, Gary Stewart of Woodsfield, Harley Stewart (Connie) of Middlebourne and Pam Powell (Sonny) of Sardis, Ohio; and his siblings-in-law, Cheri Johnson (Richard) of Paden City, Tom Sing of Erie, Jim Sing of New Martinsville and Mike Sing of Moundsville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
For those wishing to attend the services, CDC guidelines will be followed, social distancing is required and masks are mandatory.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society or Relay for Life.
