He was predeceased by: his parents, Ervin William Helmick and Della May Helmick (Liller); his wife Joyce Kathryn Helmick (Lark); and his brothers, Bernard William Helmick (Pat) and Roger Allen Helmick (Darlene).
He is survived by: his children, Allan D. Helmick (Susan) of New Creek and Tammy S. Suffern (John) of New Creek; his grandchildren, Laura Costello (Aaron Turner), Emily Simpson (Chris), Rachel Stevens (Derek) and Robin Leatherman (Josh); and his great grandchildren, Hayden, Hazel Costello, Charlotte, Vivian Simpson, Jackson Stevens, Camden and Paisley Leatherman. He is also survived by niece.
A memorial service was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 at 4:45 PM at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel (85 S Main St, Keyser, WV 26726). Visitation was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
