He was predeceased by: his parents, Rudolph Compton and Geraldine Compton (DeHart); his grandson Nick Simpson; and his brothers, Wallace and Bill Compton.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda Compton (Lusk); his children, Michele Sizemore (Rusty) of Virginia, Ann Simpson (Brian) of Florida and Chris Adkins (Jared Anderson) of Virginia; his grandchildren, Emily Adkins of West Virginia, Courtney Alexander (Jake) of Ohio and Alexis Simpson of Idaho; his great grandchild Ella Alexander; and his sister-in-law Ann Compton. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
