He is survived by: his sister Alice Hypes of Mullens, WV; his son Peter Hypes Jr. (Maranda); his grandchildren, Karlee, Tre, Tegan and Kenzlie of Cyclone, WV; his daughter Elizabeth Hypes (Jeff Kimrey); his grandchildren, Priscilla Raines, Michael King II and Makayla King of Beckley, WV; his son Derrick Hypes (Nancy Lilly); his grandchildren, Andrea Hypes, Derrick Hypes Jr., Alli Jo Hypes, Marissa Arellanos, Rachel Arellanos of Hotchikiss, WV and Evangeline Tiede of Spartanburg, SC; his great grandchildren, Jesom Culver, Paisley Sumpter of Spartanburg, SC and Annie Nettles of Beckley, WV; and his nieces, Trudy Blackwell and Tammy McKinney.
