He was predeceased by: his parents, Monroe Nicholas, Sr. and Katherine Carter Nicholas; his siblings, Regina Carper, Kenneth Nicholas and Curtis Carter; his niece LaToya Nicholas; and his nephew Jonathan Strange.
He is survived by: his fiancée Vera Marsh of Mt. Hope, WV; his children, Monroe Nicholas, III (Carmen) of Louisville, KY and Whitney Nicholas (Marcus Smith) of Cheraw, SC; his sister Carrietta Strange (Samuel) of Concord, NC; his stepchildren, Robert Furrow (Tabitha) of Oak Hill, WV, Christopher Furrow of Beckley, WV, Nawana Baker of Louisville, KY and Ashley Sweeney (Johnny) of Beckley, WV; the mother of his children Barbette Wooley of Louisville, KY; his son Joseph Beavers of Bishop, WV; and his goddaughter Toni Jones of Nevada. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren.
