He was predeceased by: his parents, William Shirley and Airanna Deshong Markley; his wife Dencie Athlyn "Tootsie" Markley; and his brother James Markley. He is survived by: his children, Roger A. Markley (Tiffany) of Clarksburg, Cheryl Taylor (Arthur "Boo") of Mt. Clare and Laura Shaffer (Brian) of Jane Lew; his grandchildren, Randy Blake, Amber Shaffer, Elizabeth Shaffer, B. K. Shaffer, Hannah Markley, Tristen Markley and Raiden Markley; and his great grandchildren, Grayson, Ryleigh and Easton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
