He was predeceased by: his wife Jean Richmond; his sisters, Melva Aston and Evelyn Fish; and his niece Gloria VanScyoc. He is survived by: his children, Gary Richmond (Peggy) of Cleveland and Vicki Hartley (Chuck) of Moundsville; his grandchildren, Jenna Dompa (Nick), Cody Hartley (Mary), Emily Cherries (Nathan), Maya Constanzo and Quinn Constanzo; and his great grandchildren, Nico Dompa, Auron Cherries, Nellie Jean Dompa and Lily Hartley.
