It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of George Laverne Kirkland of Moundsville, West Virginia, born in Bellaire, Ohio, who passed away on October 11, 2023, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, William A. Kirkland and Virginia L. Boyd Kirkland Bell; his stepfather Charles L. Bell; his mother-in-law Olive Carrel; his son James Jak Kimble; his siblings, William "Bill" Kirkland, Charles Kirkland, Timothy Bell and Mary Louise Schmitt; and his nephew Brandon Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Catherine Carrel Kirkland; his children, Carla Kirkland, Cristina Tucker (Trent), Ashley Greer and Latasha Kirkland; his sisters, Virginia Sue Kovaly (Tom), Vicky Lent, Kimberly Sexton (Delbert) and Audrey Sabo; and his special little buddy Jacob Smith. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
