With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Wayne Ernest Helmick (Morgantown, West Virginia), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 22, 2024 at the age of 84. He was predeceased by: his parents, Hayward Helmick and Clarice Britton Helmick; his daughter Dawn Helmick; and his brother Terry Helmick. He is survived by: his wife Lydia Ann Pitcher Helmick; his children, Noi Helmick of Columbus, OH, Wayne Helmick Jr. (Patty) of Rapid City, SD, Tiffany "Belle" Meredith (Jimmy Kirk) of Westover, Diana Salentro (Freddie) of Shinnston and Darryl Helmick of Fairmont; and his brother Hayward Helmick (Carol) of Morgantown. He is also survived by six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, November 27th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Smith Funeral & Cremation Care (108 Holland Ave, Westover, WV 26501). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 27th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, November 27th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 2:15 PM at the Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens (1290 Fairmont Rd, Morgantown, WV 26501).
