He is survived by: his children, Susan M. Cooley, Cheryl L Cooley (Carlos) and Michael D Cooley (Amy); his brother James K. Cooley, MD; his cousin Sheila Hynes; and his grandchildren, Nathan, Barbara Ann, David, Lindsay and Stephen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
