With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Richard James Madden of Morgantown, West Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 16, 2025 at the age of 63. He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Lee Madden and Dorothy Lee Bowser Brownfield; his stepmother Margaret "Sis" Madden; and his siblings, Debra Madden White and William Huggins.
He is survived by: his wife Penny Conroy Madden; his children, Malina Sims (Brian) and Richard "Richie" James Madden Jr.; his grandchildren, Aubrey Alexander, Andrew Sims, Austin Sims, Madison Conroy, Chloe Conroy, Hannah Conroy, Destiny Conroy, Caitlyn Lipscomb and Chip Lipscomb; his sisters, LaRae Porupski (Chuck) and Patty Jo Rhodes; his son Pete Conroy (Amy); his friend Robert Thewlis; and his close friends, Princess of Chase, LP and Lucy. He is also survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
