Lennie Minard Sr. Obituary
Lennie Minard Sr., age 71, a resident of Grafton, West Virginia, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2025, in the J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital of Morgantown with his family by his side. Following a brief illness.
He was born on May 5, 1953, in Philippi a son to the late Thomas C. Minard Sr., and the late Geraldine (Collins) Minard.
Lennie joined hands in marriage in 1974 to the former Victoria D. Norris who passed away in 1998.
He was a dedicated family man whose relationships with his loved ones were characterized by deep affection and unwavering support he leaves behind two sons; Pastor Lennie Minard Jr., and wife Priscilla of Philippi, and Thomas Minard of Grafton, a daughter; Glenda Stuber, and husband Ed of Canton, OH., one brother; James Minard Sr. of Alliance, OH., grandchildren; Madison Minard, Taylor Minard, Bailey Minard, Shawn Ott, Kami Lewis, and husband Sonny, Kristin Weaver-Mayle, and husband Jacob, Jerry Weaver Jr., and wife Carrie, great grandchildren; Peighton, Rhiley, Kylie, Austin, Landon, Layla, Aryah, Adam, Richard, Eli, and Ernest, Lennie's special friend; Ann Davies, and her family including her grandson Aiden several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother; Thomas Minard Jr., sisters; Shelia Talkington, Mona Jo "Sis" Minard, and Sharon Eddy.
Mr. Minard was a Pentecostal by faith; he was a jack of many trades. There wasn't much he couldn't do. Some of his notable professions were Coal Truck Driver, Volunteer Firefighter, Republic Steel Worker, and Heavy Equipment Operator for the City of Grafton. He loved to mow his grass, hunt, fish, riding his motorcycle, watching television, his favorite shows were the Walton's, Gunsmoke, and Little House on the Prairie. Lennie loved spending time with his family and friends. His life was a testament to resilience and hard work, and he imparted invaluable lessons to all who had the privilege of knowing him. Lennie will be lovingly remembered for his gentle nature, his loyalty to friends and family, and his ability to make those around him feel special and valued.
Family and friends may gather at the Kittle Family Funeral Home 265 Beech Ave., Philippi on Thursday, January 30, 2025, from 6pm until 8 pm, and on Friday, January 31, 2025, from 8am until 8pm, and on Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 8am until 12pm the funeral hour. Pastor Lennie Minard Jr., Pastor Jeff Minard, and Pastor Troy McCartney officiating. Burial will follow in the Welch Cemetery near Moatsville.
