Jay Pitzer Obituary
Jay Walter Pitzer Sr., age 76 a resident of Philippi, WV., passed away from this life on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, in Mon General Hospital of Morgantown, his passing was sudden and unexpected. He was born on January 2, 1948, in Philippi, WV, a son to the late Harold Pitzer, and Irene (Utterback) Pitzer. Jay leaves behind a son; Jay "Bubby" W. Pitzer Jr., and companion Gerri of Kingwood, a daughter: Angela Knotts of Kingwood, brother: Warren Pitzer, and wife Patricia of Mentor OH., sister: Carolyn "Susie" Alexander, and husband Chester of Moatsville, grandchildren; Andrea Snyder, and husband Russell, Natasha "Turtle" Knotts, and companion Sebastian their son Justin; great grandchildren; Jackson, Gabrilla, and Nova Snyder. Preceding him in death besides his parents was a stepson: Alan "Podge" Donovan. Mr. Pitzer attended the schools of Chardon Ohio, and he joined the military serving our country in the Vietnam War. Jay was a mechanic working on Sea-doo jet ski's in the Virginia Beach area. He loved to hunt, shoot air guns, he enjoyed playing video games, and he loved watching sports, mostly football, his favorite team was the Cleveland Browns.
In honoring Jay's wishes his remains will be cremated. Family and friends may gather for a graveside service at the Belington Fraternal Cemetery, 1038 Fraternal Cemetery Road, Belington, WV 26250, at 1 pm on Saturday, November 16, 2024. Pastor Joe Palmer will officiate, and burial of the cremains will follow. The Kittle Family Funeral Home 265 Beech Ave. Philippi is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.
