He was predeceased by: his brothers-in-law, Rob Sidow and John Jordan. He is survived by: his mother Cecelia "Sally" Matala; his wife Jennifer Sidow; his children, Molly Matala (James Schnatterly) and Charles "Chip" Matala; his grandsons, Oliver and Patrick Schnatterly; his siblings, Tami Barbaryka (Fred) and Chris Matala; and his siblings-in-law, Liz Kurth (Lloyd), Ginny Sidow, Gretchen Weiser (Mark), Kevin Sidow (Nancy) and Meg Jordan. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
