It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Catherine D. Root of Morgantown, West Virginia, who passed away on January 6, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Dean and Virginia Evelyn Dysard Howell; her husband Charles Edward Root; her daughter Terry Lynn Lipscomb; and her sisters, Patricia Gallagher (Mick) and Mary Ann Freed (Boyd).
She is survived by: her sons, David Allen Root (Dana) of Morgantown and Brian James Root (Robin) of Morgantown; her grandchildren, Matthew, David, Jennie, Rachel and Allison; her great grandchildren, Ty, Peyton, Hensley, Hudson, Hayes, Roman, Addison, Piper, Hannah, Lilly and James; and her siblings, Jean Luzier (Phil) of Morgantown and Robert Howell (Kay) of Morgantown. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
