She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard Areford and Dorothy Wheeler Hawkins; her daughter Christine Walls Putkowski; and her siblings, Pete Areford, Harry Areford and Ruth Baker.
She is survived by: her children, Kimberly Fowler (Joe Skalican), Laura Gibson (Greg), Jennifer Parisi (Seb) and Emil Fowler II; her grandchildren, Jessica Walls, Derrick Walls, Chelsea Gibson, Stefanie Brister and Leigh Keener; her great grandchildren, Mason Joseph Barlow and Ella Layne Brister; her siblings, Allan Areford, Avalon Hawkins and Linda Longstreth; and her great-nephew Bobby.
Visitation was held on Sunday, February 16th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Smith Funeral & Cremation Care (108 Holland Ave, Westover, WV 26501). A memorial service was held on Sunday, February 16th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
