He was predeceased by: his parent Johnnie Lee Burs, Sr.; his brothers, Johnnie L. "Bug" Burs, Jr. and Larry "Lucky" Burs; his son Kevin L. Palmer; and his siblings-in-law, Minister Larry Z. Medcalf and Alberta Murray-Casey.
He is survived by: his mother Mildred Burs (Brown); his wife Tina L. Burs; his children, Pia Terrell of Columbus, OH, Ariane Burs (Steven Osborne) of Charleston, Tish Brisco (JD Lambert) of Charleston, Stephanie Murray of Charlotte, NC, Ashlie Palmer (Darrell Reynolds) of Montgomery, Mann Brisco, Tredan Brisco of Charleston and Eric Palmer (Tisjauana) of Charleston; and his brothers, Ray Burs of Deepwater, R. Glenn Burs (Kathy) of Smithers, Keith Burs (Jayleah) of Dunbar, Bishop Calvin Murray (Eletha) of Monroe, LA, Marshall Murray (Leigh-Ann) of Beckley and Bishop Thomas Murray, Jr. (Arnise) of Belle. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
