He was predeceased by: his parent Pete Lopez; his wife Joanne Vandetta Lopez; and his siblings, Tony, Joe, Pete Jr., Dominic, Louis, John, Connie and Rose.
He is survived by: his parent Maryl Oliverio Lopez; his children, Linda Gandy of Monongah and Sam, Jr. of Fairmont; his grandchildren, James Gandy, Joyce Gandy of Morgantown, Brian Gandy, Amy Gandy of Fairmont, Shawn Lopez, Shannon Lopez of Shinnston and Shane Lopez of Shinnston; his siblings, Marianne Secreto, Carolyn Roussin and Frank Lopez; his sister-in-law Fannie Vandetta; his friend Frank Pulice; and also, James Gandy of Monongah and Linda Lopez of Fairmont. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
