He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Thamer and Hazel Frey (Marshall); and his wife Betty Frey. He is survived by: his children, Marsha Nestor (Steve) of Belington, Angela Harris (DJ) of Moatsville, Charles "David" Frey (Nancy) of Philippi, Stephen Frey (Pam) of Tacy and Jeffrey Frey of Belington; his grandchildren, Tonya Ferguson, Christina Mills, Sarah Harris, Linnea Walters, Rochelle Nestor, Jessica McLean, Kaitlin Jones, Brett Frey, Shelby Frey, Kory Jones, Abbie Frey, Gracie Frey, Dean Harris and Loryn Harris; his great grandchildren, Stephen Ferguson, Michaela Loudin, Slaton Harris, Rustyn Harris, Acelynn Harris, Joden Harris, Carly Mills and Camryn Mills; his great great grandchildren, Emmie Loudin and Frankie Ferguson; his sisters-in-law, Rose Frey and Noretta Frey; and his siblings, Floyd Thamer "Bus" Frey, Robert "Grapey" Frey, Ralph "Chick" Frey, James "Brandy" Frey, Charles "Boomer" Frey, Harold "Enoch" Frey, Darl "Bevo" Frey, Tommy Frey, Christine "Tuke" Morris, Edith Marsh, Margaret "Babe" Marsh, Joann Frey, Lewis Semmelman and Donald Semmelman. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Wright Funeral Home (220 N Walnut St, Philippi, WV 26416). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
