He was predeceased by: his parents, James R. Sams and Hazel Lambert Sams; his wife Janet Sams; and his granddaughter Kelly Sams. He is survived by: his children, Kathy Samples (Tim) of Beverly, OH, Charlotte Wilcoxen (Kris) of Coolville, OH., Richard "Rick" Sams (Nancy) of Parkersburg and Randy Sams of Mineral Wells; his grandchildren, Randy Sams (Nichole), Dustin Sams (Nikki), Krissi Whitlatch (Brandon), Bret Wilcoxen (Sarah), Zac Wilcoxen (Sasha) and James Sams; his great grandchildren, Hayden, Lyra, Elijah and Avery; and his sister Charlotte McClead. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home of South Parkersburg (2333 Pike St, Parkersburg, WV 26101). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
