He was predeceased by: his parents, William Charlton and Dorothy Charlton (Tuell); and his sister Deb Pursley. He is survived by: his children, Amber Martin, Andrea Rothka and Victoria Charlton; his siblings, Jean Charlton (Dave Petty), Robert Charlton (Tammy), Donna Charlton, Linda Devore (Terry) and Billy Charlton; and his girlfriend Penny Shull. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
