He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Edward and Glada Irene Riddle Smith; and his siblings, Shirley, Katherine and Wallace.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Marie Graham Smith; his children, Tina Bailey, Eugene Smith II and Anita Tibbs; his grandchildren, Mark, Drew, Mollie, Timmy, Madison and Taylor; and his siblings, Richard Smith (Sharon), Ted Smith (Bev) and Marion Somerville. He is also survived by twelve great grandchildren.
