He was predeceased by: his parent Robert M.; his wife Margaret Marie Grimes (Holley); his son James Robert "Jimmy" Grimes; his great grandchild Christopher Gage Carter; and his brothers, Glenn Grimes and Charles Grimes.
He is survived by: his parent Lenora "Tassie" Grimes (Thacker); his daughter Kay Ford (Danny) of Milton, WV; his grandchildren, Sherry Wendell, Heather Ford, Kerri Lewis (Tim) and Chance Grimes (Catherine); his great grandchildren, Coleton Carter, Abby Wendell and Cailyn Grimes; his daughter-in-law Sue Grimes; and also, Bob Ramsey, Sherry Ramsey, Pat Cutlip, Mark Cutlip, Tim Bogren, Doug Maxey and Michelle Maxey.
