He was predeceased by: his parents, Keith Howerton and Betty Howerton of Logan, WV.; his brother Tom; and his sister-in-law Barbara Howerton of Dublin, VA.. He is survived by: his wife Cindy Shafer Howerton; his children, Kathryn Howerton Adkins (Kyle) of Bridgeport, WV, Elizabeth Howerton and Marshall Howerton of Fairfax, VA.; his siblings, David Howerton (Deni) of Logan, WV, John Howerton (Carol) of Logan, WV and Sue Howerton Smith (Dick) of Honey Brook, PA; and his nieces and nephews, Allison, Becky, Melissa, Amy, Beth, Michelle, Scott, Richard and Tyler. He is also survived by 12 great nieces and nephews.
