It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mabel Viola Smith of Middlebourne, West Virginia, born in West Union, West Virginia, who passed away on June 7, 2023, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry G. Perine and Mabel P. Perine (Elliott); and her siblings, Maggie Stone and Frank Perine. She is survived by: her husband Ruben Smith, Jr.; her children, David Smith (Bobbie Jo) of Paden City, WV and Teresa Long (James) of New Martinsville, WV; her siblings, Alfred Perine (Lucy), Emery Perine, Nancy Shultz, Lillian "Sue" Leeson (Charlie) and Ronnie Perine (Marie); her sister-in-law Lynn Perine; her grandchildren, James Jr., Raphe, Samantha and David Jr.; and her great grandchildren, John, Hunter and Zoey. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
