He was predeceased by: his parents, Clinton Nelson Spencer and Bessie Pearl Watts Spencer; his wife Josephine Spencer; and his siblings, Clinton N Spencer Jr., Mona Jean Spencer McCoy and Justus "Sonny" Spencer.
He is survived by: his children, Mike Spencer (Carisa) of Middlebourne, WV, Kaye Lynn Gresham (Christopher) of East Amherst, NY and Tim Spencer (Amy) of Middlebourne, WV. He is also survived by two stepchildren, thirteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.
