He was predeceased by: his parent Alonzo Simms; and his wife Betty Sue Simms. He is survived by: his parent Marie Simms (Vermillion); his daughters, Rachelle Zirk of Massillon, OH, Crystal Bauer (Ron) of Wheeling, Jill Wiggins (Brad) of Ashburn, VA and Loni Richmond (Joe) of Moundsville, WV; and his brother Kenneth "Larry" Simms (Margaret) of Cardington, OH. He is also survived by five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to the McMechen Volunteer Fire Department or Project Hope in Thomas's name.
