He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Cassell Harden and Susie Kegley Harden; and his granddaughter Jessica Louise Harden Smith. He is survived by: his wife Mildren Harden; and his children, Deborah Connell (Ben), Delma Harden (Groves Thompson), Kathy Bowers (Stephen), Cassell Harden (Staci) and Virgil Harden Sr. (Janet). He is also survived by great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home (3431 Coal Heritage Rd, Bluefield, WV 24701). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
