He is survived by: his son Abe Lawrence; his grandchildren, Abe John IV Lawrence (Katelyn) of Dallas, TX, Melissa Westerfield (Michael) of Aurora, IN, Thomas Lawrence and Marcus Lawrence of Huntington, WV; and his great grandchildren, Abe John V, Piper of Dallas, TX, Isabella and Michael of Aurora, IN..
In lieu of flowers, John's request was contribution given to Maple View Church of Christ, 194 Robbins Rest Rd., Bluefield, WV 24701.
