It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Galen Berg of Maysville, West Virginia, born in Petersburg, West Virginia, who passed away on June 23, 2022, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Rodney William Berg and Nora Ethel Berg (Barger); his son-in-law Todd L. Thompson; his siblings, Geraldine Simmons, Betty Simonsen, Juanita Berg, Forrest Berg and Wayne Berg; his brothers-in-law, Harry Reel and Don Simonsen; and his foster brother Dennis Howard.
He is survived by: his wife Catherine "Cathy" Berg (Shreve); his children, Scott E. Berg of Maysville, WV, Jeremy W. Berg of Maysville, WV, Kelly Thompson (Ed Rexrode) of Maysville, WV and Miranda R. Berg (Mike Hesse) of Maysville, WV; and his siblings, Alberta Reel of Moorefield, WV, Shirley Schaefer (Frank) of Archdale, NC, Karen Kimble (Tony) of Maysville, WV, Verlin Berg (Lois) of Maysville, WV and Hetzel Berg (Linda) of Maysville, WV. He is also survived by five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren.
