He was predeceased by: his parents, Eldred Rafael Gibson and Ona Gladys Landreth Gibson; his sister Gladys; his stepdaughter Cindy Hutto; his stepdaughter-in-law Bonnie Cochran; and his granddaughter Savannah Gibson.
He is survived by: his wife Vivian Shue Gibson; his children, Eldred M. Gibson Jr. (Shelly) and Debbie Klinger; his stepchildren, Raymond Cochran Jr., ReDonna Koch and Gracious Payton (Charlie); and his stepgrandson Ronnie Smith. He is also survived by six grandchildren, seven step grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and nine step great grandchildren.
