He is survived by: his mother Bertha Jean Pendergrass of Matoaka; his siblings, Nancy Dalton (Roy) of Matoaka, Diana Schmalenberger (Dave) of Rock, Sharon Chaffin (David) of Kentucky, Roger Runyon (Melba) of Matoaka, Wayne Runyon of Winston Salem, NC, Roy Dale Pendergrass of Northfork, Darrell Pendergrass (Stephanie) of Princeton and Lowell (Janice) of Rock; his close friend Cathy Blankenship; and his uncle Alvin Gilley. He is also survived by aunt, uncles, nieces and nephews.
