In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Owen leaves behind and his impact on the lives of his loved ones. Though Owen may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer Grant Whetzel and Lethia Thelma Whetzel (Mongold); and his siblings, Darlan, Buddy Mongold, Glee Delawder, Annis Dispanet and Fay Weaver.
He is survived by: his wife Angilee Whetzel (Barb); his sons, Lee Whetzel (Sarah) of Mathias, WV, Eugene Whetzel (Keisha) of Moorefield, WV and Jason Shell (Terri) of Winchester, VA; and his brother Ivan Whetzel. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the McKee Funeral Home Chapel (17434 Old Baker Rd, Baker, WV 26801). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
