It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Stafford of Matewan, West Virginia, who passed away on August 28, 2021, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Boyd and Hazel Lee Stafford. He is survived by: his wife Earlene Stafford; his sisters, Shirley Stafford and Mary June Stafford; his stepsister Sharon Hensley; his siblings-in-law, Lloyd, Jesse, Alfred, Estil, Mary S. Ward, Marie Crouse, Fannie Dotson and Dorothy Mae "Dottie" Smith; his sons, Richard Lee Stafford of Matewan and Nicholas Freeman (Kristin) of Oil Springs, KY; his adoptive daughter Ruth E. Hatfield of Ransom, KY; his brother William Lee Stafford (Reta); his brothers-in-law, Willard Marvin Smith (Shirley), Robert Smith (Carol Sue) and Jeffrey Michael Smith (Donna); his stepsister Sherry Hensley Woolridge (James); his sister-in-law Maggie Leanna Smith of Matewan, WV; and his grandchildren, Austin Dakota Lee, Keirston Rashell, Daniel Issac, Jaxon Ryder, Bryan Phoenix, Cade Evan, Zaiden Blake and Knox Christian. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
