He was predeceased by: his daughter Agatha Beth Gibbs; his granddaughter Tabatha Dawn VanMatre; and his siblings, Lesley Gibbs, Helina Gardner and Nancy Neal.
He is survived by: his wife Sara Ellen Gibbs; his children, Robyn Bush (Shane) and Garry Gibbs Jr (Jenny VanMeter, Harold); his grandchildren, Trista Ferguson (John), Mariah Toler (Austin), Hunter, Siera Bush, Kayla Farley, Trenton, Emma, Ansley Gibbs and Natosha Scowden (Joey); his great grandchildren, Burkley, Braylee Ferguson, Adalynn, Griffin Toler and Kyrie Gibbs; his siblings, Harold "Jack", Harley "Pete", Wesley Gibbs, Luanna Hussell, Giwendolyn Martin and Regina Gibbs; his nieces, Kim Varian and Tammy Hussell; and his nephew Terry Gibbs.
