He was predeceased by: his parents, Garland Houghton and Meredith Hickman Houghton; his daughter Fai'dra; and his siblings, Barbara, Gary and Johnny.
He is survived by: his children, Frederick C. Houghton II, James Vereen, Catherine Williams (Brian) and Erica Skipper (John); his grandchildren, Kayla, Jessica, Megan, Tyson, Andrew, Brooke, Madelyn, Ava, Bryson and Morgan; his great grandchildren, Aly, Aiden, Izymiel, Kasen, Kristian and Kashton; and his sisters-in-law, Barbara Summerfield (Tom), Ruth Ann Lance and Bertie Lance. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
