It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Richard Franklin Sutherland of Martinsburg, West Virginia, born in Charleston, West Virginia, who passed away on April 10, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas L. Chittum and Maxine K. Chittum (Hatfield); and his wife Janice M. Sutherland (Lovejoy). He is survived by: his children, Richard F. Sutherland, Jr., Jay M. Sutherland, Daren S. Sutherland, Karen R. Fisher and Lisa A. Hedges. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
