He was predeceased by: his parent Carl Hamilton; and his brother Kenneth Hamilton. He is survived by: his parent Gussie Rinker Hamilton; his wife Janet Ring Hamilton; his children, Mark W. Hamilton (Mollianne) and Anne Hamilton Martin (Rick); his grandchildren, Justin Sheets, Avary G. Hamilton, Owen W. Hamilton and Lily L. Hamilton; his sister Teresa Nicklin (Prince); and his siblings-in-law, Elizabeth R. DeHaven (Larry), Douglas G. Ring (Brenda) and Johnny M. Ring (Linda). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
