He is survived by: his wife Frances Compton; his children, Matthew Compton of Bradenton, Florida and Molly Coleman (Shawn Coleman) of Pikesville, Maryland; his grandsons, Gunnar Compton and Elias Coleman; his sister-in-law Lisa Blakely; his nephew Greg Blakely; and his niece Rachel Blakeley of Aubrey, Texas..

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, July 11th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the The Woods Resort.

Will went on to graduate being awarded the Senior Athlete Award for scholarship, leadership, and athletic contribution to American University.
