It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George Robert Hagerthey (Martinsburg, West Virginia), born in Somers Point, New Jersey, who passed away on November 9, 2024, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, George Hagerthey and Helen Hagerthey; his siblings-in-law, James, Dorothy Ryon and Joseph Rubinfine; and his parents-in-law, Colin and Dorothy Oldfield.
He is survived by: his wife Gwendolyn I. Oldfield; his children, Wendy L. Lanham (Charles) of Berkeley Springs and Scot E. Hagerthey (Karen) of Washington, DC; his sister Ruth A. Rubinfine of Martinsburg; his grandchildren, Melissa P. Copenhaver (Joseph) of Hagerstown, Maryland and Gavin R. Hagerthey of Washington, DC; and his great grandchildren, Addison and Maeve of Hagerstown.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Brown Funeral Home (327 W King St, Martinsburg, WV 25401).
