He is survived by: his wife Irmgard Tischer Schmitt; his daughters, Nikola Shelton, Audra Weisenberger (Michael) of Kearneysville and Patricia Kenney (Bruce) of Kearneysville; his grandchildren, Natali Joy, Kristina Jordan, Jessika Johanna, Kaley Brook and Lacee Michelle; his great grandchildren, Joaquin, Kennedy, Evan, Ingrid, Paisley, Brooks, Emberly, Drew, Kimber and Carson; and his siblings, Carl Schmitt and Joyce Frasier.
