He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Allen Hanshew, Sr. and Margaret Alice Shanholtz Hanshew; and his wife Ollie Mae Mussetter Hanshew. He is survived by: his son Patrick Hanshew (Lisa); his grandchildren, Brittany Cox and Courtney Hanshew; and his great grandchild Cylvie Saunders.
