It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barbara Lou Plotner (Martinsburg, West Virginia), who passed away on November 17, 2024, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

In the vast expanse of eternity, Barbara shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Barbara farewell, her loved ones carry with them the precious gift of her memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Siford and Bertha Siford (Whetzel); her husband Hayward L. Plotner; and her sister Betty L. Spickler. She is survived by: her children, Michael L. Plotner of Martinsburg and Karen L. Oliver (Douglas Smeltzer) of Martinsburg; her grandchild Lauren E. Castro (John) of Tampa, Florida; and her great grandchildren, Benjamin and Catherine Castro. She is also survived by ten nephews and ten nieces.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. John's Lutheran Church (101 W Martin St, Martinsburg, WV 25401). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to East Ridge Health Systems, c/o The Grove Center, 235 S. Water St., Martinsburg, WV 25401; or St. John's Lutheran Church 101 W. Martin St., Martinsburg, WV 25401.

“BARBERA HAS BEEN A PART OF MY FAMILY FOR THE PAST COUPLE OF YEARS. SHE WAS MY MOMS ROOMMATE AT THE NURSING HOME. THERE WASN'T A DAY THAT WENT BY THAT ME OR MY SISTER DIDNT VISIT HER. SHE WAS A DEAR, SWEET LADY AND WILL BE SADLY MISSED. I'M SO GLAD THAT I GOT THE OPPURTUNTIY TO HAVE HER IN MY LIFE. SHE MADE ME LAUGH EACH AND EVERY TIME THAT I WOULD VISIT HER AND SHE ALWAYS GAVE ME A HUG GOODBYE AND TOLD ME THAT SHE LOVED ME. SHE LOVED THE SNACKS AND DRINKS THAT WE WOULD BRING HER. ZOE'”
