She was predeceased by: her parents, Lloyd Petry and Bertha Petry (Shears); her husband Kenneth E. Massey; and her brothers, Lloyd Petry, Jr. and William Petry.

She is survived by: her children, Linda Pugh, Gary Massey (Rosemary) and Melissa Lyttle; her grandchildren, Barbie Miles (Winston), Marcie (Mario), Pino, Felicia Perdew (Josh), Derek Pugh (Leslie), Heath Lyttle and Jeslyn Bowyer (Aaron); her great grandchildren, Brantley, Ryan, Corey, Alex, Haley, Landan and Molly; and her sisters, Rita O'Neal and Ann Stine (Jimmy).
