He is survived by: his close friend Roxanne Chaney of Marmet; his sons, James "Jim" Lawrence III of Charleston and Joseph Lee Lawrence of Charleston; his stepdaughter Robin Chaney of Chesapeake; and his sister Shirley Jean Campbell (Jim) of Charleston.
