He was predeceased by: his parents, Wally Ward and Veta Couger Ward; his wife Laretha Sue Bowien Burton; his great grandchild Dominic Trotter; and his brother Mike Burton.
He is survived by: his sons, James Burton of Columbus, Ind, David Burton of Champaign and Ill; his stepdaughters, Shelia Miller of Clarksville, WV, Charlene Farrington of Meridian and Rebecca Smith of Meridian; and his sisters, Nola Gregg of Warsaw and JoAnn Mudry of Lee Summit, Missouri.. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren.
